Schedule: Long-term industrial project with overtime opportunities based on project requirements.
Location: Sturgeon County, Alberta
Position Summary
ONEX River is seeking experienced Crane Operators to support a long-term industrial construction project in Sturgeon County. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the successful candidates will safely operate mobile cranes to support lifting operations and construction activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Safely operate mobile cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications, industry regulations, and site procedures.
- Perform daily pre-use inspections and complete required equipment documentation.
- Review lift plans and work closely with riggers, signal persons, supervisors, and other trades to execute safe lifting operations.
- Lift, move, position, and place structural steel, piping, equipment, modules, and construction materials.
- Ensure all loads are properly rigged, balanced, and lifted safely.
- Monitor weather, ground conditions, and load capacities to ensure safe crane operation.
- Perform routine operator maintenance and report equipment deficiencies promptly.
- Maintain compliance with ONEX River and client safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, and pre-job planning.
- Be available for overtime, shift work, weekends, or call-outs as required.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Valid Alberta Crane Operator Certification or recognized interprovincial equivalent.
- Previous experience operating mobile cranes in an industrial construction environment.
- Previous industrial construction experience is required.
- CSTS 2020.
- WHMIS 2015.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, organized, and self-motivated.
- Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
